How to apply for a LOMEF/ARF grant?

Who Can Apply?
Applications are welcome from community groups such as children’s and
women’s organizations, schools, youth associations, and non-government
organizations who are working with disadvantaged sections of society in South
and Southeast Asia. Applications cannot be accepted from individuals or commercial
operations.
LOMEF/ARF can provide funds for 1) the total budget amount requested for projects
if budgeted items are appropriate to the above mentioned priority areas or 2)
for project elements only. Projects requesting funding from LOMEF/ARF can be
either short or long term in duration, but consideration of on-going support
for long term projects will be undertaken every year. Those programs targeting
rural and urban slum areas will be given special consideration.
What Activities are not Supported?
Research projects.
Emergency relief work.
Education aimed at religious instruction only.
Projects requesting support from LOMEF/ARF for capital expenditure only.
Trips for seminar attendance.
What is the Funding Limit?
The maximum funding available per project or project element is US$ 5,000. Project
administrative costs (management costs, office costs and other overheads directly
associated with project activities) must not exceed 20% of the total grant requested.
How to Apply
Interested organizations/institutions should send an official letter that includes a short project proposal (maximum 10 pages) to LOMEF/ARF by either post or e-mail, outlining the project they are seeking funding for. All proposals must be submitted in English.

There are two intakes for proposals per calendar year. The first round deadline is December 31st with a second round deadline of May 31st. All proposals granted funding will be decided within one month, depending on necessary clarification and negotiation.
